There are various activities happening around Seattle this President’s Day Weekend! Here are a few to share with you to enjoy with friends and family!

What would you do if you were President? Come learn a kid-sized dose of American history and dream about what you would do if you were President. Would you make the country bird a peacock? Would the national song be sung by Yo Gabba Gabba? Plus all the regular, fun activities in the Museum – stop by the Imagination Studio to create a clay sculpture, get your exercise climbing the Museum’s mountain and more. Family fun all day at the museum for kids aged 3-10 and their care-givers.

Most people celebrate President’s Day weekend and mid-winter break. At the Seattle Aquarium it’s Octopus Week! February 18-26 there’s fun and learning about one of the coolest creatures in Puget Sound. Watch divers take to the water three times a day in the Window on Washington Waters exhibit at 10am, 11:30am and 12:15pm. Wearing specialized masks, they are able to talk back and forth with Aquarium interpreters on the outside of the exhibit, and answer questions from the audience.

SAM Downtown has extended hours Presidents Day Week: Monday–Thursday: 10:00am – 9:00pm. Come see the new “Gauguin & Polynesia” exhibit! Children 12 and under are FREE.

NW Trek: Kids ‘n’ Critters

Experience a day of good, clean fun and learn all about the wonderful world of soil and the role it plays in our lives! FREE admission for up to four children ages 3 to 12 with each adult or senior paying full admission. Special Kids ‘n’ Critters activities are free with admission and include nature-themed arts and crafts and trailside encounters with Northwest Trek’s smaller animals. Tram seating is limited to the first 1,500 visitors. All trams are 30-minute tours. Northwest Trek is a treasure for wildlife enthusiasts. This 725-acre wildlife park is home to more than 200 animals that are native to the Pacific Northwest.

The Summit Tubing Center is a great place to start your winter adventure! Located across from Summit Central, tubing is a fun-filled way to enjoy the winter as a family or as a group. The tow takes you, and your tube, back to the top so you can maximize your fun on the snow. Sold in two hour sessions beginning at 9am, you’ll have plenty of time to slide yourself silly!
The Tubing Area is a weekend operation maintaining hours Fridays through Sundays and during holiday periods, like President’s Day. Dress warmly! Fun for kids of all ages.
